他是“动态人力资源管理模式” (1995)、“东方嘉柏酒店品牌” (2002)、《经营参考》和《酒店文摘》电子杂志(2003)、“中国互联网酒店联盟” (2004)、“集团化三维立体发展模式”(2005)、“虚拟泛旅游联盟”(2007)、“中国旅游信息化发展论坛”(2009)及“旅游规划三合一生态平衡开发模式”(2010)的创建推广人。
他于1980-1988年在美国留学,并先后攻读华盛顿市乔治城大学的国际关系学士学位,纽约州立大学奥伯尼分校的社会心理学硕士学位,纽约大学(私立)行政管理学院的行政管理博士学位;自2012年在美国俄克拉荷马州立大学和南佛罗里达大学访学。
他从1989年至今曾先后在香格里拉、喜来登、假日、君华、凯莱、东方、泰达、海航、中油国际等酒店集团担任酒店培训部经理、酒店人力资源总监、酒店副总经理、酒店代总经理、集团人力资源总监、集团副总裁、集团总裁、集团首席执行官、集团总经理、集团董事总经理等职务,现任南开大学国际酒店管理英才起航项目执行主任。.
他同时兼任中国社会科学院旅游研究中心特约研究员、国际旅游投资协会副会长兼海外总干事和美国普度大学、香港理工大学、北京第二外国语学院、天津南开大学、天津商业大学的客座教授;并连续两届当选中国饭店协会副会长。

He is the founder of the Dynamic Human Resources Management Model (1995) , the Oriental Jasper Hotel Brand (2002) , the Operation References Monthly and the Hospitality Digest Monthly (2003), the Sino-Internet Hotels Alliance (2004) , the 3-Dimensional Hotel Development Model (2005), the Virtual Pan-travel Alliance (2007), the E-Development Forum on China’s Travel & Tourism Industry (2009), the 3-in-one Ecological Balance Model for Tourism Planning(2010).
He studied in USA from 1980 till 1988; first for his BSFS Degree at the School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University, Washington DC; second for his MA Degree in Social Psychology at the College of Arts and Sciences, State University of New York at Albany; and finally for his DPA Degree at the Graduate School of Public Administration, New York University (private). He has been attached to OSU and USF in the United States as a visiting scholar since 2012.
He started his career in hotel business back in 1989, and worked his way up from Training Manager at Shangri-La and Sheraton, Director of Human Resources at Holiday Inn and Meritus, Deputy G.M. and Acting G.M. at Gloria Plaza Hotel, Group Director of Human Resources and V.P.- Development at Gloria International Hotels Management, CEO of Oriental Hotels Management Company, Managing Director of TEDA Hotels Management Company, President of HNA Hotels and Resorts, General Manger of CNPC International Hotels Management Company, to his current position as the Executive Director for the International Hotelier Development Program of Nankai University.
He also serves as the Special Researcher with Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Vice President and the General Secretary of the International Tourism Investment Association, the Visiting or Adjunct Professor with Purdue University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Beijing Second International Studies University, Nankai University and Tianjin University of Commerce. He has been elected as the Vice President of China Hotel Association for two consecutive terms.
